It puts you right there, but in a bad way at times
Four star performance
Three star recording
Rounding down for level and frequency of crowd noise.
The band is pretty tight here and the setlist is strong.
At one point in Ithica you can hear the ice in someone's glass clink so clearly I looked over my shoulder to see if they were behind me.

Yes!
Man, I had never heard a live version of "Katrien" or "A Place for Parks," and they're INCREDIBLE. For 1998, this is sweet recording quality, and it catches the band with a rare 10-song setlist in the early days! "Katrien" is NASTY raw energy, as is the amazing version of "Summer" and "Fear Satan."

Subject:
A good historical record
My main reason for posting this is to point out an error in the stated setlist for track 6 is actually "A Place for Parks" and not "Helicon 2". If people care to wander over to the excellent "bright light !" site, in the gigography there are many instances where the band has changed songs within a setlist, notably for technical reasons. Nonetheless, a good recording and show, albeit with a bit of annoying crowd chatter.
